Dear JPS Customer,
Last month The Jewish Publication Society (JPS) announced a comprehensive publishing agreement with the University of Nebraska Press (UNP).
As of January 1, 2012, UNP will take over the business of the JPS publishing operation: printing, warehousing and fulfillment, sales and marketing, and licensing rights.
JPS will continue its century-old mission of publishing books of enduring worth by soliciting and developing manuscripts that represent the best of scholarship in the fields of Bible commentary, Jewish history, and Jewish thought. Our books will continue to bear the venerable JPS imprint. All our works in progress, from our biggest projects to our smallest, will move forward. As a matter of fact, linking ourselves to the resources of a major university press will further enhance our publishing program.
We are working hard to make this transition smooth and seamless for our customers. If you have any questions related to JPS or its ongoing mission, please feel free to contact Alx Block at JPS. As promised, you will find new ordering procedures through UNP and relevant contact information here.
JPS very much appreciates your business, and we know that it’s because of you and our other loyal customers that we’ve been able to continue as the only multi-denominational, nonprofit publisher of Jewish books in English for close to 125 years.
All the best,
Rabbi Barry Schwartz
