David Hitt

David Hitt grew up in the Rocket City of Huntsville, Alabama, always believing he would someday be a part of the spaceflight community. After a decade-long foray into journalism, Hitt today works in space education and outreach.

As a contractor on the NASA Educational Technology Services team, based at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Hitt writes for teachers and students about NASA missions and educational projects.

In addition to co-authoring Homesteading Space for the Outward Odyssey series, Hitt's space-related extracurricular activities also include serving as a volunteer for the U.S. Space & Rocket Center museum, assisting in maintenance of artifacts exhibited there.

Hitt, a 1996 graduate of the University of Mississippi, is an award-winning former newspaper reporter and editor.
