The following is a letter from Jane Ferreyra, director of the University of Nebraska Press.
Happy fall from the University of Nebraska Press!
As we move toward the year-end, we reflect with pride on the ways the University of Nebraska Press (UNP) continues to thrive in its mission to support teaching, research, and service. Together, we publish and share works of intellectual and cultural significance, pushing the boundaries of human knowledge and experience. UNP’s books and journals not only fuel academic research and timely discussions but also resonate in the hearts and minds of readers worldwide. Many of our publications garner critical acclaim, commercial success, or both—achievements that underscore the excellence we strive for every day. Our acclaimed designs, our expert editing, and the award-winning content continue to elevate the reader’s experience, inviting discovery and connection in every bookshop, library, and personal collection.
Among last fiscal year’s highlights, UNP published 130 new books and 26 new paperbacks, 41 of which won awards, with 20 others recognized as finalists. Thanks to over $186,000 in subventions from you—our authors and colleagues, our friends and enthusiasts—we were able to support the production of many titles, especially those scholarly works with smaller audiences but significant impact. We encourage you to learn more about us and our accomplishments by exploring the FY 2023–24 Annual Report by the Numbers.
With warmest wishes for a joyful and successful new year, on behalf of all of us at the University of Nebraska Press,
Jane Ferreyra, Director
